and wonder that inspired Marco Polo while discovering the ancient East.

The beginning
Massimo’s journey began in 1995, inside the textile world of Prato. He started his textile life as a buyer and began the first network of commercial relationship in Shanghai. In the far east, Massimo discovered an ancient civilisation, rich with subtleties, colours and
fabrics which stimulated his creativity. Massimo opened his first branch office, with a local team
of textile professionals who helped him with this project. He put the Asian markets of China, Hong
Kong Korea in contact with the major Italian garment companies, with the aim of introducing the
knowledge of Italian production to the textile productions in the Silk Road.
2010
The real challenge for Massimo, and the biggest adventure, was in 2010 when the project of
Ebtex started to take shape. A textile company shaped from his ideas, an ambitious project which
united all his experiences of life, work and travels. he collection “Ebtex Bertini” was born, which combined the know how and the creativity of Italian production with the production potential of China. “I started Ebtex because I saw that many companies needed a research of fabrics highly
personalised, sewn into their style identity, which needed to answer the specific needs of their
collections. This is asking to the textile district a complex work of research and development,
without limits of countries.”
Massimo’s plan was to use a complex production chain, which would benefit from both local and
international knowledge. This process obtains a final product with top quality standards,
characterised by quick turn-around and a competitive market cost.
Today
Massimo’s journey continues to this day, and Ebtex has started to see a new project of
development of Made in Italy inside the fabric collection. The growth of the collection proposes
that part of the fabrics are created in Italy, which shown the level of quality, traceability and
sustainablity.
